Lexi May Jensen

So...its only been 7 weeks but I think its time I write the labor story! I know I am a slacker and I will try hard to keep updating and documenting our family's journey with our new baby girl!

Here are a couple pictures that we took the Sunday before I delivered. I needed to show Lexi one day how I looked with a big belly!

I went to my doctor appointment on Monday Aug 27. I was starting to dilate and contract through the previous week. Dr. Clark decided to help me move along my labor. The rest of the day I started having more and more contractions. They were getting a little painful but not too bad. I went to work that night and I was sure to walk and take the stairs anytime that I could! It was a long night and I was hoping to be dilating even more. I walked over to labor and delivery, which was just down the hall from the NICU where I work. I had them check me and I unfortunately was not dilating. They told me to go home and rest. I went home and I tried to sleep....that was almost impossible with the contractions coming closer and closer together. I finally just got up and got in the shower. The contractions slowed down a little and I was able to go to my ultrasound that I was having because my belly was measuring small. Everything looked great at the ultrasound and Dr. Clark called to tell me the results. He then told me to come on over and see him in his office and he would try to get me going into labor even more. This time it worked! I continued to contract all afternoon! I kept walking and walking with my mom. She took me to store after store just to keep me moving and get my labor going! At 7 pm Christian was finally home from work and I was hurting and ready to go to the hospital! When we arrived I was in labor and they told us they would keep me and that we were going to have our baby girl! We were very excited and nervous! Dr. Clark was already at the hospital with someone else and was able to come over and break my water right away! I ended up getting an epidural...which was great and was able to enjoy labor! Christian and my mom stayed with me the whole time! I had some other visitors and loved having them there! Lexi May Jensen was born at 12:59 AM! She weighed 7 lbs. 0 oz. and was 19.5 inches long! Grandma Debbie, my mom, cut her cord!

Lexi has been such a blessing and we are so excited to get to know our little princess!! More pictures and stories to come! Thank you for everyone that came and supported us in the addition to our family!

Baby Room!

 This is an old dresser that we have been keeping around the house. We decided to make it green and we will put a pad on top and turn it into a changing table as well!!

 We decided to paint the room after we had the dresser and crib in the room already! We had to take down the crib and move everything out! Its a good thing CJ is so handy!

 We started with painting the stripes...

 And then CJ put up bead board. It was his first time and he did awesome! He really knows how to make things look amazing!

 Spraying the bead board and base was next...it took a lot of taping and touch up but in the end it was worth it!

Once it was finished, I was at work and CJ and his friend Dusty went to work and put the carpet back in, put the crib back together, painted the fan and moved the dresser back in! It was an awesome surprise to come home to a finished room!

So here I am, 32 weeks pregnant in this picture...I am now 36 weeks. I can't believe it is coming so quickly! I am ready to be finished and to meet our little girl (who doesn't quite have a name yet :)! I am so glad the room is almost done, of course we still have a few little details to finish. CJ is so amazing and worked so hard...our little girl has the cutest room around! She will love it! Thanks babe for all your hard work!

Updates and Pictures!!

This is our very first ultrasound picture at 6 weeks!! We could barely see a heart flicker!


This is a peek at 10 weeks! You can see little arms and a body and head! Getting bigger so fast!




This video was taken at 13 weeks. A thumb sucker already!! So crazy how things work so early on! It is such an amazing thing to experience!!


This is a picture at 16 weeks pregnant! Glad to be four months along and we were able to get a peek and it looks like we know the sex.....ITS A GIRL!!! We are so excited! I am feeling so much better and now just very anxious to keep seeing her grow!



Here she is at 18 weeks! She is always sucking her thumb or keeping her hands close to her face! She is growing everyday and I can feel her more and more! It is so much fun and I am so excited to be a mom! Christian is always so supportive and he is so excited to be having a little girl! He may pretend like he wanted a boy but he is going to be wrapped around this girly's finger!!

We Are Expecting!!

I am happy to announce that we are expecting! We have been waiting for this for awhile (well I have at least)! I have made it to 13 weeks and have been very excited to share the news! There are so many things to remember about the first trimester!

-I have never been so tired in my entire life!!

-I have not been sick more than a day or so which I hear is very lucky

-It is still hard to believe that it is true

-I am anxious to find out if its a boy or girl

-I am getting hungry now that it is the end of the first trimester

-Christian says I'm moody (I don't believe him)

-Still waiting for my bump to show

I have never been so happy as I am now! I can't wait for this baby! Christian is very nervous but is also really excited! I know he is going to be the best dad ever!!

Grandma Sharon

I am very sad to post that my Grandma Sharon, my mother's mom, passed away last night. It has been a very sad day for us and we are still shocked. She was 69. This has been hard for my family, especially knowing that my brother is coming home from his mission in 3 days. We love her very much and we were not expecting this. She died from natural causes and was found peacefully in her living room. Grandma, I love you and I can't wait to see you again!

California

Just last weekend Christian and I were able to get away down to California! We had a great break, ate a lot of good food and went to some awesome games! We were able to go see the Utah vs. USC football game! It was awesome! The Colosseum was HUGE! There were so many people there and quite a few Utah fans that were there! The whole outside was one big tailgate party! It was a great game with a lot of suspense! I was disappointed that Utah lost, but Christian being from Riverside, CA was thrilled that his team won!!







While we were there we went to the beach, did some shopping and went to 2 Angels vs. Yankees baseball games! The first game the Angels won and the second game, which was on 9/11, was won by the Yankees. Even though we love the Angels it was hard not to want NY to win on such a special day! Going to the ball park is always so much fun and we hope to go again soon!

Cancun!!!

So, I know I said I was going to keep blogging, and let's just say I have been REALLY bad about it! I have so many things to share from the last few months!! I will just start with cancun and go from there! We were able to go the Cancun, Mexico in June and we had SO MUCH FUN!! It was such an awesome vacation! I loved spending so much time with Christian. It was a much needed break for both of us!!

We were able to take some awesome pictures with a monkey, the kiss was not bad, but it was horrible when he stuck his tongue in my lips to run along my teeth!! YUCK! I was terrified that I was going to get some horrible disease! We also went to Tulum, one of the Mayan ruins. It was amazing! The beach there was beautiful and we be enjoyed learning about the culture and history there!! We golfed at the Hilton golf course, where Christian shot one over, which is amazing considering he had never played that course before! We went to some fun places to eat, one night we even met up with one of my friends that I work with that was down there with her family!!


And, last but not least, we were able to watch game 7 of the NBA finals at Hooters in Cancun! It was awesome to see the Mavs win! We had such an awesome trip and we look forward to going again! I have a thousand more pictures but not enough time to post them all!!
